The people of Dhofar rely heavily on this season. During this time, grass and other plants grown in abundance for the benefit of camel and cattle herds, which constitute vital wealth for the people, and pervade their lives especially residents of the mountain area and adjoining plains. With the rapid economic development of Oman after the Renaissance, the Khareef season grew in importance. Tourists come to Dhofar from all over the Sultanate and other gulf countries to enjoy this unique weather.
